Datamar’s CEO, Andrew Lorimer, was one of the interviewees of the newspaper Valor Econômico in a report published on Monday, May 11th. Titled “China cancels 12 shipments to Brazil by July”, the text addresses the consequences for exporters of the lack of space on vessels.
In Andrew’s opinion, with the dollar favorable for exports, there will be a logistical bottleneck that will not prevent the growth of exports from important sectors that depend on containers, but may limit them from reaching their full growth potential. Despite this, according to him, “it is natural for shipping lines to cancel port calls given the current circumstances. This also makes freight on exports reach a healthy level, at a time when the price is falling, ”he said.
